Bio & Research Interests

As a Ph.D. Candidate and a Certified Mental Performance Consultant® (CMPC), I provide evidence-informed mental performance programs to athletes and high performers. Committed to optimizing performance in sport, I integrate current research to help individuals enhance their abilities and overcome adversities.

Beyond consulting, I am an active researcher in sport psychology, currently completing my Ph.D., which explores the environmental characteristics of athlete development. My research focuses on how athletes “fit” within their sport environments, and how it impacts performance and development. To maximize real-world impact, I use an implementation science approach to bridge the gap from research-to-practice.

My master’s research examined professional hockey players’ within-organization transition experience with recalls and reassignments. These findings can contribute and offer insights for coaches and athletes pursuing a career in professional hockey.

Mental Performance Coaching

What is Mental Performance?

This is an individual's ability to use psychological skills to adapt to their environment, and assist in their performance pursuits. Put simply, it is one piece of the puzzle to achieving your best performance.

Why is it important?

Many of times athletes, performers, and business professionals can get in their own way of striving towards their best performance. This may come in forms of self-doubt, which developing customized tools that can minimize the impact can assist in performance.

Do one or more of these statements sound like you?

"I am amazing in practice but I can't seem to translate it to the game"

"I just tense up and I don't know why"

"I just need to get my confidence back and then I'll be good!"

"I can't seem to manage my emotions and it's starting to impact my performance"

Do you NEED this?

That is up to you. Training your mind is similar to physical training. It is a piece of the performance puzzle that will help you in your pursuits of excellence. The more effort you put into training, the more likely you are to experience the benefits.
